Adaptec Bites Into Apple Macintosh ATM Market; ATM adapter line offers broadest OS support in ATM industry.


MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1996--Adaptec announced today that it is shipping ATM adapters with full driver support for Apple Macintosh Apple Macintosh - Macintosh  desktops and servers.

The Macintosh platform remains an industry favorite for multimedia and publishing applications, and ATM, with high bandwidth and quality of service (QoS), allows those applications to run smoothly over a network. In recent months, Adaptec has been accelerating its ATM software development efforts. With this announcement, Adaptec underscores its commitment to ATM, and to customers of all platforms who need ATM performance, scalability, and QoS.

Adaptec is now shipping an ATM-based WinSock 2 SPI (1) (Stateful Packet Inspection) See stateful inspection.
