Adams and Reese, LLP Selects Norstan for IP Telephony Solutions.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Norstan, Inc. (Nasdaq:NRRD), a leading provider of communications solution and services, today announced that Norstan Communications, Inc. has provided Adams and Reese, LLP, a law firm with offices throughout the south central United States, IP Telephony solutions and services for three of the law firm's seven locations, including its headquarters in New Orleans.

Adams and Reese's objective was to begin the migration of their communications network from a traditional telephony platform to Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony. Norstan will provide a Cisco IP communications solution, along with professional services and on-going maintenance services to meet their communications needs.

To begin the law firm's IP migration, Norstan conducted a Voice Readiness Assessment (VRA) to ensure the existing data network could support convergence applications. Norstan's VRA assess a customer's current data and telecommunications environment identifying any obstacles that may hinder a successful convergence project. This adds assurance, investment protection and provides a roadmap for migration from traditional PBX environments to IP Telephony.

Following the VRA, Norstan designed for Adams and Reese a Cisco IP communications solution including new data core infrastructure, Cisco CallManager, Unity Messaging and a Rightfax fax server for its Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Washington DC locations. Solution features include:

--The Cisco CallManager allows extension of the law firm's existing telephony capabilities with IP-based network devices such as IP phone, Voice over IP gateways and multimedia applications;

--Data, voice and video services such as unified messaging, multimedia conferencing, collaboration and the firm's client billing system interact with the IP telephony solution;

--Unity Messaging delivers robust voice messaging capabilities including a single user access point for e-mail, voicemail and fax; and

--Norstan's ProtectNet(R) Life Cycle services will provide on-going remote monitoring, management, and support services.
