Adams Named VP and CFO of AT&T Business Services.

Business Editors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2000

AT&T today announced the appointment of John Adams, 45, as vice president and chief financial officer of AT&T Business Services (ABS). Adams was corporate vice president and controller of Electronic Data Systems.

During his 15 years at EDS, Adams played an integral role in that company's spin-off from General Motors. As Controller, he had worldwide responsibility for all finance and accounting activities at EDS. He was responsible for changing the profile of the finance organization to work alongside marketing and operations and for putting in new processes for accountability. He is credited with a business model that comprised a strong focus on controls and centralized policies while conducting decentralized operations.

In addition to EDS, Adams has worked with such companies as Unigate Plc and Arthur Young in London and Peat Marwick in West Africa.

"We're looking forward to John joining our team and bringing his extensive management and financial expertise to the position," said AT&T Chief Financial Officer Charles H. Noski.

Adams, who will report to Noski, will support Rick Roscitt, President of ABS and become a member of the ABS senior management team. Adams succeeds Chris Carty, who becomes Vice President - ABS Revenue Assurance Management.

Born in the United Kingdom, Adams received his BA in Economics with honors from the University of Exeter in England and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He and his wife, Karen, have three sons.

AT&T Corp. (www.att.com) is among the world's premier voice, video and data communications companies. With annual revenues of more than $62 billion and 160,000 employees, AT&T provides services to customers worldwide.
