Here are the highlights from the Featured Expert column:

GDP GDP (guanosine diphosphate): see guanine.  was revised up for Q402 from 0.7% real growth to 1.4%. That's a greater than expected upward revision. On a first look, Adam Oliensis sees that inventories were much stronger than the first estimate, consumption was also a bit higher, and so was the trade deficit higher. There was a slight rise in private investment as well. The market likes the headline number, but with the rise in inventories greater than the total rise in GDP, it looks (again at a quick scan) as though the strength of the revision may well be at the expense of Q103.

(from the closing bell update on Feb. 27)

The CBOE NASDAQ 100 Index (CBOE: NDX) maintained its contact with its blue S2 line and is heading toward the apex of an interesting triangle. It's wrapped up in the middle of an array of support and resistance lines, and is lying virtually on the neckline neckline

The line that connects the two lowest points on the intermediate declines of a head-and-shoulders chart pattern. In an inverted head-and-shoulders formation, the neckline connects the two intermediate tops.
that Oliensis has been discussing now since the beginning of the year. Within the current consolidation a break over S1, now at 1016, could project the index up to the blue highlighted band and the descending black trendline.

There's loads of work to do for the S&P 500 Index (CIN: SPX). It held on to its S1 line and may be putting in an A,B,C bottom, where C is higher than A. It reached its Head & Shoulders breakdown target on February 13, so a snapback would make sense.
