Adam A700 FAA Certification Program Gaining Momentum.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Adam Aircraft today announced several important milestones for the A700 AdamJet certification program. The first fully conforming A700, Serial Number 003, joined the flight program with its first flight on April 9, 2007. Since first flight, testing has focused on the evaluation of the production configuration of flight controls, landing gear system, avionics, and data acquisition system used for flight testing. "Since Serial Number 003 entered the flight program, the aircraft has handled very well and all systems are performing as expected," stated Adam Aircraft Flight Test Pilot Jeff Peer. "We are working on air speed calibration and stability and control effectiveness with different configurations throughout the flight envelope In aerodynamics, the flight envelope or performance envelope of an aircraft refers to the capabilities of a design in terms of speed and altitude. The term is somewhat loosely applied, and can also refer to other measurements such as maneuverability. . The three-screen Avidyne display has been particularly impressive in providing a clear overview of the aircraft's performance, perspectives, and the aircraft is very reliable out of the box". In addition to Serial Number 003, two nonconforming prototypes have completed more than 989 hours of risk-reduction testing. "We learned a lot from the two prototypes and we are very pleased with Jet 003." The all-carbon fiber design has met or exceeded its structural design parameters. The aircraft has completed Ground Vibration Testing (GVT GVT Global Virtual Time GVT German Volume Training (high-volume light-weight strength training system) GVT Ground Vibration Test GVT Government Income Trust (stock symbol) GVT Global Virtual Team ), which is a necessary step in clearing the aircraft for its full-speed operating envelope, including a maximum cruise speed of 340 KTAS KTAS Knots True Air Speed and maximum operating ceiling of 41,000 feet. In support of flight test, Adam Aircraft is also conducting full-scale static testing Static Testing is a form of software testing where the software isn't actually used. This is in contrast to Dynamic testing. It is generally not detailed testing, but checks mainly for the sanity of the code, algorithm, or document. on several test articles and has successfully completed more than 75 percent of the company tests. Static testing for FAA requirements is currently 20 percent complete and will conclude in 2007. Jet 004 fuselage, wing, and tail have been mated, and the aircraft will join the test program this summer, followed by Jet 005 later this year. The last aircraft used in the certification program, Jet 006, will be built to support the Functional and Reliability (F&R) tests at the end of the flight test program. Following the conclusion of F&R tests, the company will obtain its A700 Type Certificate, with deliveries beginning in 2008. The A700 will be added to the Adam Aircraft Production Certificate (PC) already in place for its facilities in Englewood and Pueblo, Colorado The City of Pueblo (IPA: /'sɪti əv 'pwɛbloʊ/) is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat of Pueblo County, Colorado, USA. , and Ogden, Utah Ogden is the county seat of Weber County,GR6 Utah, United States. A 2006 estimate placed its population at 78,086. The city served as a major railway hub through much of its history, and still handles a great deal of freight rail traffic which makes it a , in support of production of the A500 piston twin aircraft. About Adam Aircraft Adam Aircraft is a designer and manufacturer of advanced aircraft for civil and government markets. The company uses computer-aided design computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), form of automation that helps designers prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and other design-related elements using special graphics- and calculations-intensive , rapid prototyping, advanced manufacturing techniques, and carbon composite materials to produce high-performance aircraft at attractive prices. The A500 twin-engine piston aircraft has been Type Certified by the FAA, and the A700 AdamJet, which is currently undergoing flight test and development, will carry seven people and feature the best people-to-price performance ratio of any VLJ VLJ Very Light Jet (aircraft) . Adam Aircraft headquarters are based at Centennial Airport (APA (All Points Addressable) Refers to an array (bitmapped screen, matrix, etc.) in which all bits or cells can be individually manipulated. APA - Application Portability Architecture ) in Englewood, Colorado, with additional facilities in Pueblo, Colorado, and Ogden, Utah. To learn more about the company, visit www.adamaircraft.com. |
