THERE'S been plenty of red faces at Soho Square these past few months - understandable given the amount of erogenous exercise that takes place in the stationary cupboard.

But the latest faux pas completely takes the breath away, if only for its sheer stupidity.

With the England Amputee team taking part in the World Championships, the FA decided to send along a correspondent to report on their progress.

Considering the sensitive nature of the event, perhaps it wasn't a good idea for the hapless scribe to use clichAs with double entendres in his match report.

"The England Amputee team have suffered a setback in their quest to triumph at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro at the hands of the tournament favourites Russia," read the cringeworthy intro.

But it got worse. "England swiftly found themselves two goals down three minutes later following a quick corner and at this point changes were made to introduce fresh legs into the game."

Just as well the same writer didn't cover the recent Homeless World Cup or England would have been known as an untidy side who had little possession, but somehow beggared belief by camping out in their opponents' half
