The simulators will provide U.S. Air Force air traffic controllers with the tools needed to achieve and maintain proficiency in the skills necessary to effectively control the airspace in a Military Air Traffic Control (ATC ATC Air Traffic Control ATC Average Total Cost ATC Certified Athletic Trainer ATC At the Center (Hartford, Maine retreat center) ATC Applied Technology Council ATC All Things Considered ) environment. Specific TSS objectives are: (1) certify new technical ATC trainee's to become air traffic controllers; (2) train controllers in multiple positions, with aircraft and additional controller interactions and coordination, while building confidence and proficiency; and (3) expose controllers to base mission changes, new aircraft, and unique flight characteristics. Options for contractor logistic support and for a training support center capability to support the simulators are also being exercised.
