HONOLULU & PORTLAND, Ore. -- Making it easier to locate web addresses for Oahu businesses, Ad-Ventures today announced that its 2006 Your Island Pages for Oahu is the first in the nation to offer a new phone number-to-Internet feature from TelID.

Ad-Ventures Hawaii has an exclusive license in the Hawaiian Islands for TelID's easy-to-use, phone number-based web addressing system, which gives directory users quick and direct access to an advertiser's website simply by using the telephone number in a browser request, e.g., www.telid.com/phonenumber. More than 4,000 Oahu businesses and government offices have a TelID listing in the directory.

"As consumers continue moving more of their business look-ups online, bridging the print phone book to the Internet will be more and more valuable. How the Service Works

Businesses and government organizations with TelID-linked websites are highlighted in the directory for easy user identification. Users can go directly to a TelID site by entering www.telid.com/ into the browser's address box, followed by the area code and phone number of the TelID listed organization.

For example, to find the website of A Downtown Dental Group in Honolulu, whose phone number is 808-533-0000, a user would enter: http://www.telid.com/8085330000. No special plug-ins are required, and the service works with any browser.

TelID's registry and URL-forwarding infrastructure routes phone number-based requests directly to the web page associated with the phone number.

Ad-Ventures Innovations

"We selected Your Island Pages to introduce TelID because Ad-Ventures Hawaii is widely respected in the Yellow Pages industry for being quick to adopt innovations that provide value to both consumers and advertisers," said Henry Whitfield, vice president of sales and marketing for TelID. "This is TelID's first directory to go to market, but introductions in 80 other mainland areas are scheduled over the next year."
