). Ad dollars rose 3.6%, going from $581.8 million in December 2002 to $602.7 million in the month last year. For the year, ad dollars showed a small increase of 0.7% in 2003, going to $7.227 billion while total ad pages declined 3.2%, going from 588,313 pages in 2002 to 569,405 ad pages last year. Five of the 12 categories showed a decline in ad dollars for the year and seven of the 12 categories showed an ad page decline. Further information will appear in the March 31 issue.
