Business Editors/Technology Writers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2000

Computerworld magazine announced today that Acxiom(R) (Nasdaq:ACXM) is one of the "Top 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology" in the nation. The magazine identified Acxiom and the other companies as "true employers of choice" and recognized them for setting a standard in:

-- Treating workers with respect.

-- Listening to ideas.

-- Being flexible with workers' job responsibilities, hours and

working conditions.

-- Providing them with training and education to stay current in

the field.

-- Giving them access to interesting work and technologies.

-- Allowing workers to take charge of their own careers.

-- Making the office a fun place.

Acxiom ranked 80th in this year's survey, which included such well-respected companies as Federal Express, Texas Instruments, Cisco Systems and Intel Corporation.

Acxiom consistently has been recognized as one of the best places to work in America. Fortune magazine in 1998 and 1999 named Acxiom as one of the best places to work, making it one of the few companies to ever be named to the list for two consecutive years.

"We believe Acxiom is one of the most exciting and rewarding places to work in America, and it is always nice when a magazine as well-respected as Computerworld agrees," said Charles D. Morgan, Acxiom's company leader. "This is a real tribute to all of our associates who are really the ones who provide the ideas, talent and energy." Acxiom employs nearly 5,600 associates worldwide and more than 2,500 in Arkansas.

With more than 250,000 subscribers, Computerworld is one of the premier publications serving the Information Technology industry. To qualify for the Computerworld list, companies must have revenue of $500 million or greater, and an IT staff of 15 employees or greater. The annual survey focuses on the organizations' benefits, training and development, average salary increases, percent of staff promoted, turnover rates, and the percentage of women and minority staff in management in IT departments.

Morgan said there are many factors contributing to Acxiom's reputation as a great place to work, including its unique culture. "At Acxiom, we continuously seek out progressive practices to improve our work environment, which is extremely important in the competitive IT field," Morgan said. "We operate in a team-based structure where associates are empowered to make decisions about their work and their careers."

Computerworld also ranked companies based on "hot projects" that make it exciting for IT professionals.

"Our new AbiliTec(SM) Customer Data Integration technology is one of the most exciting projects anywhere," Morgan said. "Our business is at the heart of e-commerce, and our global opportunities are growing. Our associates work and grow every day by serving dynamic Fortune 500 companies. This is simply one of the most exciting places to work in the world."
