Actors wanted for new training centre.


ACTORS from across Coventry and Warwickshire are being called to audition audition /au·di·tion/ (aw-dish´un) hearing.

 for roles at the UK's first virtual reality simulation training centre for the construction industry.

The ACT-UK Simulation Centre, in Cheetah Road, Coventry, is designed to hone the talents of the next generation of construction workers and engineers.

Actors will be required to undergo an intensive training programme during the summer to prepare them for work which starts in September, when the centre opens to the construction industry for business.

Trainees attending the centre will be presented with challenging site management scenarios as actors will play site personnel, colleagues and members of the public to put trainees' skills to the test.

They will work with trainees in a simulation theatre which houses 10 site huts, building site props and a huge 12-metre panoramic pan·o·ram·a

Supervisors will observe trainees' behaviour via cameras and then work with the trainees to pinpoint areas for development.
