MICHAEL Sheen Michael Sheen (born 5 February 1969) is an award-winning Welsh actor perhaps best known for his portrayal of Tony Blair in the Stephen Frears directed-films The Deal and The Queen. has urged Brian Clough's family to go and see his film portrayal of the late football manager. The Damned United follows the doomed 44 days Clough spent managing Leeds United in 1974 before he was sacked. Clough's family have said they will boycott the film as they were unhappy with the book upon which it is based. However Sheen said: "It's a much more affectionate and respectful look at Brian." Before last night's premiere at London's Leicester Square the actor added: "I hope they get to see it because I can understand their fears. "I know they weren't happy with the book but the film is a very different animal." Clough's son Nigel told BBC Radio Derby BBC Radio Derby is the BBC Local Radio service for the English county of Derbyshire.
