Actor Dom DeLuise dead at 75: reports


Actor Dom DeLuise Dominick "Dom" DeLuise (born August 1, 1933) is an American actor who has starred in numerous roles, mostly comedic. Biography
Early life
DeLuise was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Italian American parents John and Vicenza DeLuise.

TMZ.com entertainment news website said DeLuise died peacefully in his sleep while in hospital on Monday. A representative for the actor was not immediately available for comment.

DeLuise appeared in a series of films alongside Hollywood icon Burt Reynolds. The duo appeared in "The Cannonball Run" together and a later sequel, as well as other films including "Smokey and the Bandit bandit: see brigandage.  II."

However DeLuise is best known for his performances in several Mel Brooks films, including Western spoof "Blazing Saddles," Star Wars parody "Spaceballs" -- where he played Pizza the Hutt -- and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
