Activity by the seaside in Cornwall.

TAKE time out in 2009 to learn a new skill without spending a fortune. The Sands Resort, Cornwall, has teamed up with local activity centres to offer a range of land and water based activities.

SURF: The Surf Club will take you through your paces on Mawgan Porth Mawgan Porth is a beach and village on the north coast of Cornwall between Porthcothan and Watergate Bay .

The village consists of a pub a few hotels and guest houses and caravan parks. The beach has golden sands, some dunes and high cliffs on both sides.
 Beach. If you're keen to learn as a family, group lessons start at pounds 25 per person (minimum age 8), or splash out on a private lesson for pounds 65.

 Glaze Beach. Designed to resemble caving and pot-holing, this is a series of narrow tunnels and tight corners at the base of the cliff. Prices start at pounds 12.50.
