Jodi Minneman, COO of Blood Services for CBC states, "With the assistance of ActiveDayton.com, we have been given the potential to reach over 200,000 visitors a month. As the need for blood increases and the number of donors decreases, CBC would not be able to meet the needs of the patients in our community without the help of companies such as Cox Interactive Media, which operates ActiveDayton.com. As today's culture has become an electronic society, ActiveDayton.com has provided CBC with enormous capabilities to reach out to our community. We are so excited and proud of ActiveDayton.com for winning this national award."

Tim Darcy, Site Manager of ActiveDayton.com says, "This is a tremendous opportunity for ActiveDayton.com to reach out to our community and provide a real service to the people of the Miami Valley The Miami Valley, broadly, refers to the land area surrounding the Great Miami River in southwest Ohio, USA, and also includes the Little Miami, Mad, and Stillwater Rivers as well. We're glad to be a part of it."

ActiveDayton.com works closely with the CBC to promote awareness about blood and tissue donation. In support of the effort, CBC sponsored an "ActiveDayton.com Day" at the center last fall. To promote the event, the city site posted a volunteer blood quiz and a virtual tour of the donation process on their site. Additional advertising on the Web site was also used to promote the event. The results speak for themselves with over 230 donors signing up that day. ActiveDayton.com has continued to work closely with the CBC to recruit donations during critical blood shortages and educate their users.
