Active Voice introduces fault-tolerant large system platform for repartee universal messaging systems.SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1995--Active Voice Corp. (Nasdaq:ACVC ACVC Ada Compiler Validation Capability ACVC Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference ACVC Arms Control Verification Committee ACVC Army Commercial Vehicle Code ACVC Air-Cooled Vault Concept ), a world leader in PC-based voice processing systems and computer-telephone integration, today introduced a new fault-tolerant Large System Platform (LSP LSP - Label Switched Path ) with hot-swappable components for the company's popular Repartee Voice Processing System. With up to 60 ports of voice processing and the ability to handle an unlimited number of subscribers, the LSP system can be used for virtually any messaging application. The new LSP system uses advanced PC technology, including a Pentium processor in the main system and a RISC RISC in full Reduced Instruction Set Computing Computer architecture that uses a limited number of instructions. RISC became popular in microprocessors in the 1980s. (reduced instruction set chip) processor in the RAID storage subsystem. The system is completely Windows 95 compatible. The system's modular, fault-tolerant design includes redundant components for all critical parts, so when a power supply, fan or disk drive stops performing, a spare one automatically takes over. Parts can be changed easily, and backups or maintenance can be done on-line without interrupting communications. "Our new LSP Repartee offers innovations for our customers in several distinct ways," said Douglass S. Anderson, vice president of sales and marketing. "It provides more than enough power to run several of the latest CTI (Computer Telephone Integration) Combining data with voice systems in order to enhance telephone services. For example, automatic number identification (ANI) allows a caller's records to be retrieved from the database while the call is routed to the appropriate party. applications simultaneously and ensures complete reliability, while the open architecture allows them to stay on the cutting edge as new products emerge." A complete monitoring system constantly checks the CPU CPU in full central processing unit Principal component of a digital computer, composed of a control unit, an instruction-decoding unit, and an arithmetic-logic unit. enclosure temperature and integrity of each LSP component. If the system status changes in any way, the technician is alerted with audio, visual remote pager and remote terminal notification.
