), a world leader in PC-based voice processing systems and computer-telephone integration, announced a new version of PhoneMax(R).

PhoneMax 2.0 is the first TAPI (Telephony API) A programming interface from Microsoft and Intel that is part of Microsoft's WOSA architecture. It allows Windows client applications to access voice services on a server.  (Telephony Application Program Interface) and TSAPI (Telephony Services API) A telephony programming interface from Novell and AT&T. Based on the international CSTA standard, TSAPI is designed to interface a telephone PBX with a NetWare server to provide interoperability between PCs and telephone equipment.  (Telephony Services Application Program Interface) personal telephony software package with Visual Basic(R)-based scripting capabilities. Active Voice will demonstrate PhoneMax 2.0 at Computer Telephony Expo in booth No. 723.

PhoneMax combines rules-based call handling and TAPI/TSAPI desktop call control with Visual Basic commands to provide a completely customizable personal telephony package. PhoneMax users can manage all telephone activity on-screen, so dialing, answering, transferring, holding, screening and even conferencing calls is as simple as clicking and dragging a mouse. And, they can use information fr and Excel. PhoneBasic supports OLE drag-and-drop and OLE automation, as well as Open Database Connectivity See ODBC.
