New Alliance Strengthens Active Software's

(Nasdaq:ASWX), a leading provider of eBusiness integration software products, today announced that they have partnered with Portal Software Portal Software was founded in 1985 as Portal Information Network, one of the first ISPs in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a result of the partnership, Active Software will build an ActiveWorks(TM) Adaptor An alternate spelling of "adapter." See adapter.

Today's announcement strengthens Active Software's leadership position in the telecommunications industry, where over a dozen telecommunications customers and system integrators worldwide have chosen ActiveWorks to solve their eBusiness integration problems.

Active Software's ActiveWorks(TM) Integration System provides an easy-to-use platform for Portal Software customers to develop the complex InterActions required for automating business processes across their enterprise.

Under the terms of the agreement, Active Software will develop and ship an Infranet Adapter. The Infranet Adapter will be an Intelligent Adapter designed to take advantage of all the new features of the ActiveWorks Integration System, release 4.0.
