Financial details were not disclosed.

In addition, Active Software announced that it will be working with Intel to optimize the performance of the company's ActiveWorks(tm) Integration System for Intel(R) Pentium(R) II Xeon(tm) processor-based servers as well as forthcoming servers based on IA-64 processors.

The investment in Active Software is part of Intel's strategy to grow the breadth of applications available to users of Intel architecture servers.
