Activator Systems announces cellular programming robot.

TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1996--Activator Systems Inc. ("ASI") has introduced a unique, Programming Module using patented micro robotics and proprietary software for accurate, high speed programming of any cellular phone or PCS.

It boasts a universal phone holder, zero error rate, and three minute maximum programming time. The Module accommodates any known phone or PCS and programming is by dual robotic probes which depress keypad buttons, following software instructions. The probes operate in three axes of movement, either serially or in parallel. Limits in the system prevent damage to the phone.

Programming is software driven from any PC or intelligent POS, is Windows 3.1 compatible and is designed for point and click.

For programming, the phone is placed in the holder and identified to the system. The software selects all parameters, including physical specifications, and directs the probes to confirm correct phone identity. Customer options are displayed at the terminal. After the options and phone specifics are input, the phone is automatically programmed. During programming, the Programming Module is locked to prevent movement and to provide safety. The system is designed to maximize security and minimize fraud opportunity.

With programming completed, an LED announces that the phone can be removed. The cellular phone number shows on the phone's display.

The Programming Module is designed for safety of both the operator and the phone. A water tight, retractable door covers the operating area, protecting it from inadvertent introduction of foreign objects.

It will provide management reports for the carrier and the retailer and exchange information with the carrier's computer while maintaining database security at both ends. Management report printouts for the subscriber, retailer and cellular carrier can be tailored to each user. The only limiting factor is our imagination."
