Activate Selects Network Engines Appliances to Encode Digital Content.

CANTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 2000

Network Engines, Inc. (Nasdaq: NENG) and Activate today announced that Activate has selected Network Engines WebEngine(TM)appliances to encode audio and video content for Activate's enterprise and entertainment customers.

Under the agreement, Network Engines has provided 100 WebEngine server appliances to encode audio and video content for delivery across Activate's award-winning distribution network. Activate is using WebEngine appliances to convert analog signals into digital formats, helping Activate to deliver the highest quality audio and video content over the Internet.
