Action to battle recession.


THE Welsh Assembly Government The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) (Welsh: Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru, LlCC) was firstly an executive body of the National Assembly for Wales, consisting of the First Minister and his Cabinet from 1999 to 2007.  launched recession-busting programmes after staging economic summits with businesses and unions.

Spending worth pounds 91m was accelerated by a year to support the building industry.

Payments of invoices to small businesses was speeded up to aid cash flow.

Around pounds 28m was brought forward for schemes in housing, education and regeneration Regeneration (biology)

A WAG spokesman said: "We are committed to work in partnership to ensure companies and individuals are supported."
