Action on pollution.


POLLUTION watchdogs have taken action against a Coventry metalworks firm after it allowed a plating solution to spill spill - register spilling  into drains.

During a routine visit by an agency pollution inspector, the company said it had spilled a small amount of cadmium plating solution into a surface water drain Wa´ter drain`

The agency said the firm had failed to heed earlier advice and warnings to provide adequate containers for such solutions.

The company has been told to install adequate containers by March 2, and to review its cadmium plating operations.
