Action Technologies Wins Microsoft Industry Solution Award for Third Consecutive Year.

Action Technologies, Inc., a leader in web-based customer interaction and business process management software, today announced that they have won a Microsoft Industry Solution Award for the third consecutive year.

The company placed first in "Best Collaborative and Groupware Software that supports multiple users working on related tasks in local and remote networks. The winning application, Ford Motor Company's Technical Web Authoring System (TWAS TWAS Third World Academy of Sciences ), is based on Action Technologies award winning product ActionWorks(TM) Metro. TWAS involves collaboration, and shared knowledge efforts in getting the service bulletins out to their customers -- the Ford dealers. These important messages must be communicated and relayed in a timely manner to Ford dealers worldwide, and this entire process involves a collaboration effort from start to finish.

ActionWorks Metro was chosen as the solution to develop and manage the TWAS application. With the new system, Ford has the ability to increase customer satisfaction and improve the dealer's ability to fix vehicles right the first time. The web-based authoring/approval system has reduced the amount of time to publish articles to dealers by 45%. The implementation of the OASIS portion of the Technical Web Authoring System workflow application A workflow application is where various applications, components and people must be involved in the processing of data to complete an instance of a process. For example, consider a purchase order that moves through various departments for authorization and eventual purchase.  for authoring, editing, approving has resulted in an annual savings to Ford of over $1.5 million. The incident-tracking portion of the system provides accurate individual process timing, which can be utilized to drive process improvements.
