Action Products Receives Orders at ASTRA Event.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Action Products International, Inc. (NASDAQ:APII), a leading toy designer and manufacturer of educational and positive, non-violent branded toys for pre-school children through pre-teens announced that the company reported that the 2005 ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) conference, was held at the Royal Pacific Resort here in Orlando (May 12-15th). This conference was an excellent opportunity for Action Products to gain great visibility and strengthen relationships among the leading specialty toy retailers in the industry.

The company's visibility was evident in many areas throughout the conference. As a Silver level sponsor of the conference, Action was given special recognition in the beginning of the conference directory that all attendees received.

Ron Kaplan President and CEO of Action Products, and ASTRA board member, along with Diane Hale (owner of Playnix Toys), presented John Lee (past President/CEO of Learning Curve) a lifetime achievement award. Ron's speech was delivered in front of all the attendees during a general session luncheon, giving Action Products maximum visibility and giving Ron the opportunity to share Action Products' vision for growth with a packed room.

Action Products participated in the conference as an exhibitor with a large, double booth. This allowed the company to showcase all of its brands and attract a consistent stream of retailers to the booth. During the time the exhibit hall was open the company opened up relationships with eight new accounts including: Geppetto's Toy Box Inc. (Chicago, IL), Special Effects (Brooklyn, NY), and Cheeky Little Monkeys Toystore (Brattleboro, VT).

Some orders were taken at the show but many retailers who stopped by the booth said they would be sending in orders within the next few weeks. The company received advance orders for Talking Stix(TM) and ToddWorld(TM) products, which will be shipped late in the third quarter. Action Products reported sales of $9,302,000 and profit of $107,900 for the 12 months ending March 31, 2005.
