Action Products Expects Sales Gains Of 25% In May; Company To Add Four New Products in May And Name A New CFO.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Action Products International, Inc. (NASDAQ:APII), a leading toy designer and manufacturer of educational and positive, non-violent branded toys for pre-school children through pre-teens, reported today that based on prebooked orders and new products entering the pipeline, the current estimate is that May sales will be up 25% over last year.

"Thanks to our recent investment in the material handling area, we are able to handle more orders in an efficient way," said Warren Kaplan, Chairperson. "We will continue to improve and expand our company owned warehouse operation in Ocala, FL later this year and into 2006. Our pipeline of new products is flowing at a steady rate and we are on target to bring out 50 new products this year. We currently have approximately 500 SKUs and as warehouse capacity increases, so will the number of SKUs. We expect to name a new CFO within the next 30 days. That will allow us to focus on acquisitions and we have several potential targets. Our main job is to acquire companies or assets that will be accretive and allow us to reach our longer term goal of $50,000,000 in sales."

The four new products are Lizards Bitty Buckets, EZ build biplane, EZ build Noah's Ark and Build Them Up Sticks (for the Curiosity Kits brand).

The company expects to release first quarter results on May 13 and to hold a conference call. Preliminary indications are showing a strong improvement in the bottom line for the first quarter. Action Products expects to report higher sales and a profit for 2005.
