Action, children rule the world!


It'll be lights, camera, action, for children in the North East as they get the chance to make their own feature film.

Youngsters from 16 schools, part of Creative Partnerships North and South Tyneside South Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear in North East England.

It is bordered by four other boroughs - Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead to the west, Sunderland in the south, and North Tyneside to the north.
, are in an ambitious project culminating in a movie, to be screened later this year.

The young people, aged six to 19, have already had tuition from experienced film professionals and developed the film's storyline Noun 1. storyline - the plot of a book or play or film

Not yet titled, the film is based on what would happen if a virus struck which rendered the adult population useless, leaving the job of running the world to under-18s.

The next stage is the development of the script and selection of children to act in the film. It is hoped to start filming here in August.

"Around 35 children will be in the cast but many more will be involved in all aspects of the production, with 500 having already been involved in the initial workshops" said Charlotte Johnson, of Creative Partnerships.

The project will give the young people a real taste of what it's like to work in the world of films.
