Early life
Ledger was born in Perth, Western Australia, the son of Sally Ledger Bell (née Ramshaw),[1]
 wanted to play only the "top" role in Brokeback Mountain is breathtakingly simplistic--as if that one scene were the only acting in the film! And to further suggest that Heath was so panicked by playing gay that he felt the need to fall in love on set and have a child is not only just silly, it is counterproductive and an affront af·front

 to a man who seems genuinely sensitive to the concerns of the gay community. I am embarrassed. Why do we do this? How much do we as a community require of actors (both gay and straight) who take on a gay role? These guys are actors, not spokesmen for the gay and lesbian community. There are so many fighting against us; we should cut a break to those who are working for us on whatever level.
