Acteva The Marketplace for Activities, Announces New Name at Grand Unveiling Party; Internet Company Awards Porsche to Winner of Naming Contest.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1999--

After a rigorous evaluation of over 128,000 name submissions from its re-naming contest -- some submitted from as far away as Croatia, Singapore and Australia -- TixToGo(TM) executives announced the company's new name, Acteva, in front of clients, investors, and friends at its Grand Unveiling Party on Treasure Island Treasure Island

Over 1500 invited guests attended the Unveiling, five times the average for ".com parties," and word of the event filled chat rooms from Yahoo! to SFgirl. Acteva reported over 4000 RSVPs before turning off their Webvite. Guests cheered the new name, ushered in by a flying saucer flying saucer: see unidentified flying objects. , and an exciting light and music show staged inside an airplane hangar dubbed the "Activitron." Phil Goldfine, President of Stephen Segal Films, likened Acteva to an "eBay for activities."
