Acterna, Inc. today announced that James Williams James Williams can refer to:

 has been named general counsel and corporate secretary. He replaces Rick Goshorn, who decided to leave Acterna to pursue new opportunities following the successful completion of its debt restructuring Debt Restructuring

A method used by companies with outstanding debt obligations to alter the terms of the debt agreements in order to achieve some advantage.

Williams joined Acterna in July 2002 as senior corporate counsel, bringing nearly 10 years of technology-related corporate law experience to the company. Before taking on his new responsibilities, Williams was a member of the legal team that executed Acterna's recently completed debt restructuring, managed the company's financial reporting preparation and compliance, and directed legal planning around the divestitures of non-core business assets.

Prior to joining Acterna, Williams served as assistant general counsel for Pathnet Telecommunications in Reston, VA.
