Containing up to hundreds of thousands of gates, there are a variety of FPGA architectures on the market.  product lines.

With these latest additions, Actel now provides designers with the industry's broadest 3.3 volt FPGA product line, offering devices that range from 2,500 to 30,000 gates.

"Actel has historically focused on high speed, high capacity devices that have made system logic integration a reality at 5 volts. Today, we've begun providing design engineers with that same system logic integration capability in the ever-expanding 3 volt world," said Ken O'Neill, Integrator (1) In electronics, a device that combines an input with a variable, such as time, and provides an analog output; for example, a watt-hour meter.

Actel's expanded 3.3 volt product line now includes eight of its most popular devices: the 2,500 gate A1225XL, the 4,000 gate A1240XL, the 6500 gate A3265DX, the 8,000 gate A1280XL, the 14,000 gate A32140DX, the 20,000 gate A32200DX and the recently announced 30,000 gate A32300DX.

While portable applications led the 3.3 volt revolution, this standard is now finding its way into mainstream telecommunications Communicating information, including data, text, pictures, voice and video over long distance. "What's so important about this announcement is that it acknowledges the need of designers in Actel's core high density, high complexity markets for a real set of 3.3 volt programmable options. The breadth of our 3.3 volt product line assures the marketplace of a clear upward migration path from 2,500 gates to 30,000 gates. Designers can now count on 3.3 volt programmable devices for today's designs and those that have yet to come out of the labs," O'Neill explained.
