Northern Michigan - or more properly Northern Lower Michigan - is a region of the U.S. state of Michigan, popular as a tourist destination.
 sent a cheque for $500 US to the diocese of Keewatin, to help the northern Ontario/Manitoba diocese with its share of the General Synod's residential schools settlement.

In a letter to Bishop David Ashdown of Keewatin, Bishop Jim Kelsey of Northern Michigan said "... the church in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.
