Acrodyne received many of its international orders from stations in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Romania and Guyana. Radio Jamaica Ltd, a publicly traded TV network with headquarters in Kingston awarded Acrodyne a contract valued at approximately $575,000 to upgrade its nationwide VHF (Very High Frequency) The range of electromagnetic frequencies from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. network to all-solid state transmitters. The order included emergency maintenance for the existing (competitors) transmitters, turn on services and on-site training of Radio Jamaica engineers. Acrodyne expects to deliver the transmitters and assist in completing Phase One of this project by early March. Phase Two of the project could involve an award of $500,000, for delivery before the end of the year. WVEO-TV of Southwestern Broadcasting Corporation in Puerto Rico has awarded Acrodyne an order of approximately $200,000 for the first air cooled Diacrode UHF (Ultra High Frequency) The range of electromagnetic frequencies from 300 MHz to 3 GHz. In the U.S., analog television has used UHF channels 52 to 69 in the 700 MHz band. Television Transmitter to be installed in Puerto Rico, an Acrodyne model TRU/10KD. This transmitter will be installed at channel 44 near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. A repeat customer, WVEO-TV had previously purchased six Acrodyne transmitters in the past three years.
