Banknorth Group Inc. of Portland, Maine, agreed to acquire Community Insurance Agencies Inc. of South Glen Falls, N.Y. The acquisition is expected to expand Banknorth's annual insurance premium volume of $24 million and add about $4.2 million in revenues.
