Well, get ready for a whole 'nother kind of SHAG, because the inaugural Secret House Acoustic Gathering kicks off here at noon Saturday at the Secret House Vineyards.

"Jamie LaVal is a really wild Celtic fiddle player," says Mike Meyer, the show's producer.

Meyer, who recently moved from Eugene to Portland, has wanted to bring an acoustic festival centered around Brown's music to the Eugene area for years, and was finally able to pull it off, he says.

"It's a good way to showcase him and have a celebration," Meyer says. "Greg Brown has a connection to rustic, natural places that I think will really resonate at that site."

And Meyer hopes it will become a yearly event.
