Acoustic hits the top note.EVEN more music will be on the menu in Stockton thanks to the Fringe's Loosely Acoustic Stage. Back for the third year, it will feature the very best of performers from Tees Music Alliance's regular Loosely Acoustic nights at The Georgian - plus some special guests. Headlining on Friday will be Tom Hingley, ex-frontman of influential Mancunian band, The Inspiral Carpets. The talented guitarist with a massive voice takes to the stage at 9.15pm. Saturday's top slot goes to Kathryn Williams who was Mercury Music nominated for her fabulous album Little Black Numbers. And on Sunday catch Henry Priestman - the founding member and main song-writer for multi-million selling album-makers The Christians. Joining them over the weekend will be a plethora of musical treats. Highlights include:Wheretoland -Friday Currently generating independent record company interest, these young lads play with fragility and sensitivity with comparisons to Bright Eyes.The Underdogs - Friday Cavern Club regulars, razor sharp indie rock with classic choruses. Elaine Palmer -Saturday This talented singer songwriter is from a sleepy village on the North Yorks Moors. Romantic and folky folk·y n. & adj. Paul Liddell -Sunday This hardworking and talented singer songwriter has supported Beth Rowley and will soon be opening for the legendary Billy Bragg at the Beverley Folk Festival The Beverley Folk Festival is three days of music, workshops, comedy and craft fairs.
