Possibly also derived from the word "acme" meaning "highest point". 2. A program for MS-DOS. Foundry Inc., Coffeyville, Kan., completed its centennial anniversary in 2005. Founded in 1905, the metalcasting facility was originally 8,200 sq. ft. of work space operated by 40 employees who made and repaired parts for local brick and tile tile, one of the ceramic products used in building, to which group brick and terra-cotta also belong. The term designates the finished baked clay—the material of a wide variety of units used in architecture and engineering, such as wall slabs or blocks, floor manufactures. The U.S. member body is ANSI. 9001:2000 standard. Currently Acme Foundry Inc. has grown to include more than 250,000 square feet of work space and more than 440 employees. Tom Tatman, the company's president, said diversity was the key to the foundry's long life span. "We started out doing castings for brick plants, then we went into the oil industry, and then we went into the hydraulic valve (Mach.) A valve for regulating the distribution of water in the cylinders of hydraulic elevators, cranes, etc. (Gas Works) An inverted cup with a partition dipping into water, for opening or closing communication between two gas mains, the open ends of which protrude market. It's the fact that we've gone after new markets." Current product lines includes castings for diesel engines, hydraulic valves, industrial valves, petroleum production valves, gear boxes, pump housings and machine tools, plus additional castings for various industrial machinery. |
