), The Ackerley Group has installed Broadcast MediaClusters to bring Digital CentralCasting to its two other RSGs in California and Oregon.

Digital CentralCasting allows consolidated operations, traffic, programming and accounting between television stations within RSGs, which results in significant margin improvement as well as improvements to the quality of the video. By installing a Broadcast MediaCluster at one television station within an RSG and sending programming to stations in other markets within the same RSG's fiber optic network, The Ackerley Group delivers digital programming to multiple stations for slightly more than the cost of one digital system. In the California and Oregon RSGs, Digital CentralCasting occurs between stations with different network affiliations. To facilitate Digital CentralCasting in its three RSGs, The Ackerley Group has installed one Broadcast MediaCluster in a `hub' station for each group.

"With Broadcast MediaClusters, we have video server systems operating in a cost effective platform to fulfill our vision of video management via Digital CentralCasting," said Dave Reid, President of AK TV Group, The Ackerley Group's television segment. "With the synergy between advanced digital technologies like SeaChange's, we're simplifying our video operations and generating savings that we can roll back into other activities like local news production and marketing efforts, which certainly enhance The Ackerley Group stations' individual market standings."

The Ackerley Group's RSGs include: the Central California RSG with KGET Bakersfield, KION Salinas Salinas, city, United States
