Achakzai urges rulers Forge unity to thwart foreign threats.

QUETTA, October 01, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Chairman Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai has urged the incumbent rulers to muster up courage and forge unity for thwarting foreign threats. Any external power including America can do nothing to undermine us. The government needs to take the parliament and the public into confidence and give up dichotomous policies to secure and consolidate the nationhood in our country. He expressed these views while commenting on the threats of drone attacks on Quetta city in a private TV channel program the other day. Mehmood Khan Achakzai maintained that the inhabitants of this region have been confronting imperialists and neo-imperialists for the past 200 years. The super powers are well cognizant of toughness of the masses of this region. He regretted that the incumbent rulers of Pakistan were following duplicitous foreign policy - one hand Pakistan recognizes the Afghan war as the struggle of natives for independence and on the other hand it serves as the main supply line of logistics to US and NATO forces, engaged in the massacre of innocent people in Afghanistan. He asked the government to give up this hypocritical policy and either leave the US ranks or quit the patronage of militants. Iran, being a belligerent state, is the biggest enemy of US in the region. However, the US would never launch an offensive against Iran until the latters nationhood and exemplary cohesion remains consolidated, Achakzai maintained adding that Pakistan can also build a protective shield around itself, if the rulers let masses be cognizant of the facts. He called upon the rulers to cobble up foreign policy of Pakistan in line with the masses aspirations.
