Aces high as Lynn and Ubhi go unbeaten; TABLE TENNIS.

AMANN Ubhi and Edward Lynn were both unbeaten as Colebridge Aces hammered Streetly A 8-2 in the First Division of the Birmingham Summer League.

Ubhi has made a dramatic improvement since the end of the 2008/9 season, being rewarded with a place in the Aces squad in their bid to retain the title in the 2009/10 campaign.

Association chairman Dean Hicks has been one of several players who have struggled to cope with the new bat surface rulings, but now seems to have adjusted following his performance against Maypole A in Division Two.

The Colebridge Braves blocker gained a maximum to lead his side to a 6-4 success.

Andy Choi and John Ludford both gained trebles for Sutton B in their 7-3 win at Streetly B. Smiths Wood B thumped Smithereens 9-1, as Helen Turner and Jack Styring continue in impressive form.

Styring is another youngster who is making dramatic steps forward in the game and it will be interesting to see in which team Smiths Wood supremo su·pre·mo

Colebridge Eagles beat Sutton E in the only Division Four fixture.
