Acer America Corporation today announced the addition of the TravelMate 210 series to its award-winning line of TravelMate notebooks. Replacing the TravelMate 200 series, the new TravelMate 210 is the first entry-level notebook to offer a complete multimedia package in a leading thermal and power management design with a built-in CD-RW. The CD-RW feature is only available with select TM 210TER models. The TravelMate 210 series, 3-spindled all-in-one notebooks are targeted towards mainstream users looking for a solid performance notebook at a reasonable price.

The TravelMate 210 series delivers the latest multimedia capabilities featuring Intel(R) Celeron(TM) Processor running at up to 900MHz, integrated with 128K L2 cache. For accelerated data transfer rates and demanding applications, the TravelMate 210 utilizes a 100 MHz front side bus and holds up to 512MB SDRAM memory. The TravelMate 210 also features a high quality 12.1" SVGA or 13.3" XGATFT LCD display with 16.7M Colors and Dual View Technology that allows the LCD and monitor to provide different screen displays simultaneously. The TravelMate 210 notebook provides 2.5 hours of battery life with two hours rapid charge for extended use on the go.

The TravelMate 210 is loaded with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Millennium Edition and is bundled with PC-Cillin 98, PC Doctor and Acer Notebook Manager, which provides a centralized control panel for user's preference setting. Acer's unique DASP (Disk Anti-Shock Protection) is designed to absorb shocks and vibrations and protect the hard disk from accidental drops and dangers of transportation. In addition to superb protection, the Acer TravelMate 210 comes with 10GB user removable hard drive and user replaceable CD-ROM/ CD-RW, providing the user excellent serviceability.
