He is also known as a specialist in the individual time trial. as the most successful British rider of all time after winning a sprint finish on stage six of the Tour of Switzerland. The finale at Bad Zurzach included some tricky corners and short climbs, but the Columbia team, and especially George Hincapie, gave Manxman Cavendish, 24, the perfect opportunity to complete the job. It was the 12th sprint win of the year and his 41st career victory, taking him level with Boardman. |
