Accutrac Software Supports Compliance with US Sanctions against Terrorists and Other Designated Targets.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Accutrac Terrorist Avoidance Module Helps Organizations Avoid the Legal and Financial Risks of Initiating Business Transactions with Suspected Terrorists and Other Federally Designated Targets 

Accutrac Software, Inc. announced the launch of the Accutrac Terrorist Avoidance Module, a software solution to help organizations identify and prevent the initiation of business transactions with sanctioned parties. Employing this functionality supports compliance with federally mandated foreign assets control regulations, prohibiting business transactions with targeted countries and Specially Designated Nationals (SDNs).

SDN lists are compiled and made available online by the United States Treasury Department and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The federal government requires that all US persons and businesses implement steps to review the list and prevent terrorists and other sanctioned parties from using the US financial system. Undertaking any type of business or financial transaction with a sanctions target is a direct violation of federal law. Offenders may be subject to fines ranging from $50,000 to $10,000,000 and/or up to 30 years' imprisonment.

The Accutrac Records Management Software Program provides an intake for SDN lists made available by the US Treasury Dept and OFAC. On a scheduled basis, Accutrac performs a data import from the OFAC's SDN and related lists into the Accutrac Terrorist Avoidance module. The program is designed to run on a scheduled basis, or can be initiated on-demand by a systems administrator at a client site. This functionality allows organizations to routinely compare new and existing entities from their Accutrac database against the OFAC's SDN list and quickly identify hits or clear new business.
