Accugraph Senior Vice President Ron Munden said Accugraph's telecommunications software modules are geared to provide functions and tools for engineers to perform network infrastructure design and provisioning tasks in a faster, more efficient manner. "Our agreement with Rogers Communication is especially rewarding for us because the Cantel solutions we are designing and will implement include a common engineering database for storage of all Cantel network assets and connections. This is where the telecomm industry is heading, and we believe this installation represents a quality model for wireline as well as wireless applications."

Munden said Rogers Communication intends to include its Rogers Network Services unit in the application deployment, and to phase in the use of Accugraph software for RNS RNS Regulatory News Service (UK stock market)

in conjunction with the Cantel launch.

Rogers Cantel is Canada's largest wireless telephone company, offering more than one million subscribers wireless products and services which include both analog and digital cellular services. Jean Pierre Larocque, Director of Cantel's Operational Support Systems, said the efficiencies gained by having on-line networking information puts the engineering and provisioning planning tasks in a very advanced stage. "We believe this positions us to be competitive in costs and services well into the future."

Rogers Network Services is the communication company's fastest-growing operation. It distributes high-volume voice and data transmission for corporate customers via fiber-optic networks. "The Accugraph product implementation represents a core part of Rogers' engineering and operations enterprise information model," said Larocque. "The platform will provide the required flexibility for embedding our Standards and Practices in a comprehensive knowledge set, which relates both to our ongoing planning, engineering, and building activities, as well as to our daily operational tasks."
