AccuImage Names Regional Sales Manager.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Nov. 23, 1998-- AccuImage Diagnostics Corp. (OTC-BB:AIDP) today announced the appointment of Lori Cassidy as their regional sales manager based in Florida.

Cassidy has ten years of experience in medical sales to hospitals, and previous to her current appointment was Siemens Product Manager for Vascular and Catheterization Laboratories with a solid customer base in seven states. She was responsible for producing average sales of over 10 million per year.

Cassidy earned her A.S. in Radiologic Technology from Broward (1980) and holds a National ARRT license as well as being a certified radiological technologist (Florida and California licenses).

According to Dr. Allen Poirson, president and CEO, "Basing Ms. Cassidy in Florida will expand our presence to the East Coast. She is ideally situated to take advantage of the sales opportunities in a geographic region that requires high-technology health care. Recently, AccuImage has made several other announcements. On Nov. 16, the company announced they will unveil a suite of their next generation software at the meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). On Nov. 9, they announced receipt of an order for their AccuImage Workstations valued at $300,000, with an option for an additional $300,000, from Imatron Inc. (Nasdaq:IMAT), a manufacturer of ultra-fast CT scanners, to be delivered by mid-March 1999.

On Nov. 2, the company announced they are entering the PACS field (Picture Archiving and Communication System). PACS gives the medical professional access to images through connections to the Internet or a hospital Intranet. PACS can serve to disseminate medical digital images obtained from all acquisition modalities such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. The PACS business is estimated to be a $465 million dollar market per year that will continue to grow explosively due to the managed care environment.

AccuImage software products are installed at leading hospitals and clinics internationally, including University of California-San Francisco, UCLA, Mayo Clinic, Stanford University, University of Munich, Singapore National University, Youngsei Hospital, University of Graz, HeartScan USA and HeartScan South Africa.
