On recommendation from the National Standards Board (NSB NSB National Science Board
NSB New Smyrna Beach (Florida, USA)
NSB Norges Statsbaner
NSB Naval Submarine Base
NSB National Standards Body (RSA)
NSB North Slope Borough
), the ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture  National Board of Directors has elected to phase out accreditation for camps operated solely outside the U.S. and its territories. While ACA will still offer membership, support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services , and education to international camps and individuals, September 1999 will be the last opportunity for international camps to be visited for accreditation.  international camps may continue to be accredited for the remainder of their existing three-year cycle. All camps being affected have been notified of the recent decision and their options.

The rationale behind the decision is that ACA standards are based on the cultural values and requirements of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . Critical philosophies around health care, liability, insurance, and risk management are different in other cultures. Translating ACA standards to those areas in other countries leads to potential adaptation of the intent of the standards, which jeopardizes the integrity of the accreditation program. However, ACA will continue to serve as a resource to all international camp communities.
