(New Products).Yodlee calls it the "next evolution" of account aggregation: its new Business Intelligence software suite, which helps the financial institution to optimize customer value by better understanding customer needs. In the past, aggregation services mainly helped customer retention by providing a useful customer service. The Business Intelligence product offers the bank an opportunity to do more targeted marketing with the aggregation data--while still protecting customer privacy, according to the maker. Want to know who in your customer base flies frequently and with which airline? Who has a high credit card balance with a competitor? The ability to see customer behavior from all angles--Yodlee calls it a "360-degree customer view"--permits marketers to segment their customer base in new, mind-boggling ways. "Today there's an incredible need from financial institutions to find new ways to more effectively target and market to their customers," says Yodlee president Anil Arora. "Presently they are spending millions of dollars marketing to consumers, only to find out later they are missing the mark. Customers are being inundated with services or offers they do not need." The suite consists of two components: Yodlee Navigator, a desktop tool, enables marketers to query a database and provide customized reports using sophisticated data analysis.
