 Magazine category increased 10.3% last year, going from 39 deals in 2004 to 43 deals in 2005, while the dollar value of those deals rose 42.3%, going from $1.7 billion in 2004 to $2.4 billion last year. The categories with the largest deal dollar value in 2005 include Directory & Reference Publishing ($16 billion), Online Media ($12.5 billion), Marketing/Interactive Services ($9 billion) and Newspaper Publishing ($7.9 billion).
