Anticipated to be one of this year's great science-fiction adventure games, Star Control 3 is the most recent in the series of celebrated Star Control products.

In this epic adventure, Star Control 3 tests players logic, diplomacy, and battle skills. Many of the mysteries introduced within previous Star Control games are revealed and new mysteries are introduced. As commander, the player's duty is to forge alliances and defend territories while moving to prevent a catastrophic future where the universe ceases to exist.

Players explore new regions of space including the Kessari Quadrant, a huge sector of the Star Control universe. This quadrant contains over 1,000 planets and moons and over a dozen new races. Players manage resources, set up colonies and explore the vastness of the quadrant while fighting off enemy aliens.

The classic Hyper Melee combat sequence returns with a new 3D view, beautifully rendered graphics and multiplayer capabilities. Players travel Star Control 3's immense universe with 24 different alien starships and defend themselves with 48 unique weapons while negotiating alliances with a host of bizarre aliens.

 and custom built science fiction sets were filmed and digitized to create realistic aliens and background scenes. Brilliantly rendered 3-D sequences are displayed with SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. See PC display modes.  graphics. Professional voice-overs also assist in bringing Star Control 3's characters to life.

Developed by Legend Entertainment, Star Control 3 requires a 486/66 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  IBM PC or compatible, 8 Mb RAM, 2X CD-ROM drive, and a VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association, Milpitas, CA, www.vesa.org) A membership organization founded in 1989 that sets interface standards for the PC, workstation and computing environments.
