, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1996--Just over 18 months ago, Accolade's CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.  outlined the company's strategy for regaining the leadership position the company once held. Today, with two of September's top sellers in the gaming industry, Barnett is proud to say "Accolade is back!"

"We've really focused our efforts on creating a few exceptional titles each year and successfully re-establishing our core franchises, like the Star Control and Hardball series," said Barnett. "At the same time, we have increased our in-house development of new series, like Deadlock and Eradicator. The combination has put Accolade in its strongest financial and technological position in years."

Two recent reports are a testament to Accolade's focus. PC Data's September Hit List(a) has Deadlock, Accolade's first in-house developed strategy game, at No. 8 and Star Control 3 at No. 11. In another report, SofTrends(b) has Deadlock at No. 9 and Star Control 3 at No. 13 for the month of September. Deadlock began shipping in August, while Star Control 3 topped September's charts after only appearing on store shelves the last week in September.

Both Deadlock and Star Control have each sold more than 100,000 units in their first 60 days since shipping. Earlier this year, Accolade announced that Hardball 5, the industry's leading baseball simulation, sold more than 250,000 units worldwide since October, 1995.

Accolade has not rested on its laurels. The company shipped Eradicator for the PC last week.
